Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Judgements

I had to return an automobile to a buy here pay here lot less than 30days from purchase. I became sick and unable to work. I am now on disability. Recently I have been served with a req. for me to call the attorney handling this, or it will result in a judgement by default. I have not heard anything from the dealership since the car was returned until now. They told me due to the situation that I could return the car with no further charges , but I receive nothing in writing. What can they do to me , Social Security is all I draw.

Re: Judgements

There is no right to return a vehicle. When you do that, it;s a repo, and you can expect to be sued for an amount - often large. It sounds like you have been sued, and should you fail to answer (or if you answer and lose), they can grab your bank account and other assets via garnishment and levy.
