Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Original credit card application

I was served summons on credit card debt-- Got a copy of agreement but not a copy of the original application. Does the collector have to provide proof in terms of a copy of the original application? Can I request that they do? What happens if they don't/can't? Do they normally only provide the agreement and not the application? How long would they keep the application on file?

Re: Original credit card application

A copy is probably admissable in court as a normal business record (and they may actually have the original).

You didn't ask the important question you should have asked. Note that if you owe the money you probably will lose and then face garnishments, levies and the like. Suits must be answered within 30 days, and you need to talk to a lawyer quickly to determine your strategy (such as filing bankruptcy or other options).
