Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Statute of limitation

i took out a loan in 1991 for a truck. They repoed it in 1992. It is now 2002 and i have received a validation notice of the remaining debt. I know that this expires the statute of limitations. Can they still sue me? How do I respond to the letter? i know that if I agree to the debt or send any amount of payment i renew the statute of limitations.

There are too many variables for anyone to give you an easy answer. An attorney will have to speak to you AND look over all of the relevant documents.

This answer, though responsive to the question is general in nature. It is not designed to be and should not be relied on as your sole source of information when analyzing and resolving a specific legal issue. Each fact situation is different; the laws are constantly changing. If you have specific questions regarding a particular fact situation, I urge you to consult with competent legal counsel.
