Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

summary judgement

I was served papers which I answered thinking I would be contacted with a court date. In the meantime I sent the lawyer a request for validation which he ignored. Then 2 months later he went to a different county and got a summary judgement which I had no notice of. Now I just got a paper through the mail addressed to my previous employer to garnish my wages. This was done in a 3rd county. Do they need to inform you if they are seeking a summary judgement? Why go to 3 different counties (all within 1/2 hour of each other) Is all of this legal? This was a credit card debt from New York, I have lived in Ga for 5 years.

Re: summary judgement

A lawyer will be able to answer your questions after reviewing the actual documents. We don't have them and any response would be a guess. See a lawyer in your area.
