Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
My 14-year-old son is being charged with statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl. He says he's innocent and I'm just trying to prepare myself for what is to come. If convicted what is the possible penalty and what evidence would it take to make a convection? There is also seven others that are being charged with the same thing if that has any relevance. We live in Georgia
Thanks
Barry

If he is treated as a juvenile, the maximum is five years in juvenile detention. IF he is being treated as an adult, he is looking at 10-12 years in an adult prison. Evidence: she said it happened. Good luck
