does a warrant for simple battery have a statute of limitation if not what should I do to take care if it from 2008

While there is a 2 year statute of limitations in that type case, that time can be tolled if your whereabouts were unknown to police (the fact that you have evaded arrest since then makes that likely). See a good criminal lawyer to evaluate the case.
