Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia
Equal Employment Opportunity Act
Is it legal for county government to require your race, age and sex for completion of a job application. They state it's needed because of EEOA and won't base their decision because of these items.

Re: Equal Employment Opportunity Act
The EEOC requires many employers to ask job applicants to voluntarily self-identify based on ethnicity, race and gender. However, this is purely voluntary. You should have been notified that you have the right to decline providing this information. However, employers are generally not permitted to ask questions about your age during the job application process--although they can ask about your experience.
