Re: dui violation
Depends on the violation. What was the blow? Were there priors? Was there an injury?
Usually the penalty for a first time DWI (We call it DWI in NY) is up to 1 year in jail a One Thousand Dollar Fine and a 6 month revocation of the license or privilege to drive. In the court's discretion it can give the accused as little as no jail and an unconditional discharge without fine, but it must revoke the license or privilege to drive in NY state for six months.
