Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Alimony and Adultry
if a wife catches hubby cheating is that automatic alimony in the state of GA or does that affect alimony at all? What can possibly happen when it comes to court... nothing much different or take to the bank?

Re: Alimony and Adultry
Alimony is an economic question, so conduct isn't the main consideration.
Re: Alimony and Adultry
By statute, conduct of the parties, inculding adultery, is a factor in deciding whether and how much alimony should be paid, but as a practical matter it may have little effect. If the party seeking alimony was the adulterous one, she or he is barred from alimony, but there is no corresponding automatic penalty for the alimony payor who has engaged in adultery.
Re: Alimony and Adultry
There are many factors that are considered. However, any individual seeking to optimize the affect of their spouse's conduct (offended spouse) or to minimize the affect of their own conduct (offending spouse) would each be well-advised to seek legal representation to enhance their opportunities to achieve their goal.
