Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child support

I have a male friend that had a sexual relationship with a female. during the short time of dating he told her a number of times that he did not want any children. She told him that she was on the birth control shot. after several months and kept saying that she was on the shot. she comes up pregant. Is he responsible for the child? If it is his after telling her that he did not want any children and she telling him that she was on the birth control shot?

Re: child support

If he doesn't want babieshe needs to get fixed or use a condom. He must support the childfor 18 years, and needs to act like a dad, not a deadbeat. He should not even be asking the question you asked.

Re: child support

Yes. He will be responsible for the child. He can request a DNA test, but if he does so and the child is his, he is typically held responsible for the fee. If your friend truely did not want any children he should have taken extra precautions not to get anyone pregnant (i.e. wearing a condom). The court will more than likely make him support the child if it is his.

Re: child support

He is going to be responsible for support. His only hope is to get a judge to take a dim view of her lying and increase the percent of child support that she should be responsible for.
