Under GA law, is it possible to appeal a child visitation decision made by a local family law judge? If so, what is the process?

Re: Child Visitation

Appeals in family law cases are usually (but not always, depending on the type of case)discretionary, which means an application for appeal must be filed to ask the appeallate court for permission to appeal. In those rare family law cases in which there is a right of direct appeal, a Notice of Appeal must be filed in the trial court and the appeal filed in the proper appellate court. Deciding which appellate court will depend on the type of case and trial court. There are strict time limits and strict procedures that must be followed or the appeal will be dismissed. You should see an attorney who does appeals immediately. Let us know if we can help.
