Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Client's Personal Property Misplaced by Attorney

The attorney I retained to start a contempt action against my exhusband for back child support as ''misplaced'' all my records that support my claim for back child support and all medical expenses. In four months, he has been unable to produce it, nor has he filed the contempt action. What are my rights with regard to my property? What action am I allowed to take in order to get it back? He has all the originals and was to make photocopies for his records. I do not have any other copies.

You certainly can take legal action against your former attorney for, e.g., malpractice, breach of contract, etc. It is difficult to give you precise advice in this type of forum without being able to discuss the matter with you. Please feel free to give me a call.
