when contemplating divorce...should i stay in the home or will leaving give cause for losing the home?

The problem with leaving without filing for divorce first is your spouse may have sufficient grounds for filing for desertion. This ground may adversely effect your marital division. If you can, you should consider filing for irreconcilable differences before you leave. However, contact local counsel beforehand.
