Re: contempt question

This term refers to a case Floyd v Floyd, where the court approved a provision whereby the former husband was ordered to pay funds owed to the former wife to the sheriff to hold and pay over to her and upon failing to do so, the husband could be arrested and held until he paid. The case distinguished situations where a party or a party's attorney gave an affidavit of nonpayment (which woudl be an improper self-executing clause), becuase the sheriff is an extension of the court and the self-executing provision did not depend on the testimony of a party.
