It sounds like you are trying to obtain an "order of contempt" against your ex-husband because he lied to the judge about his current living/income situation. You can file a "Motion for Contempt" against your husband at which point the judge will set a hearing date. You will be required to appear and explain your case to the judge. If the point of this is to obtain alimony or child support from your ex-husband, you may want to consider filing a "Motion to Modify Support Payments" as well. Best of luck.

Nothing in your post has anything to do with grounds for continuance of a case. That alone suggests that you need to get a lawyer. And given that in some cases recording phone conversations may be a crime, you had better get counsel. Contempt is NOT a do it yourself project.

I agree with attorney Ashman. There is nothing in your question that provides a reason for your continuance. Indeed, what you need to do is hire a lawyer to represent you in the case.

You didn't state where you are located in Georgia. I am located in the Atlanta Metro area and handle cases in a somewhat broad geographic area.

In any event, your first order of business to obtain counsel.
