what happens if i do not sign served devorse papers from a spouse who deserted and took evertying from our home when i was not there

Your question is not clear as to what papers you were given. ANY legal papers should be carefully reviewed with an attorney, as they may impact very important legal rights.

If what has been given to you is a complaint for divorce and an acknowledgment of service, the acknowledgement replaces the service by a sheriff or a process server. If you fail to sign that, then your wife could have you served by the sheriff or a process server.

The property that was taken is likely marital property and she will be required to account for what she has taken, if you ask the court to require that.
