Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
New GA child support laws
Under these new laws, why does the Custodial parent who has not worked due to raising of new kids not have to contribute? If it were the man, he would be expected to go back to work or his past salaries would be taken into consideration. Why is it not the same for the mothers?

Re: New GA child support laws
The new guidelines do include provisions for imputation of income for either the custodial parent or the non-custodial parent if there is evidence of wilful or voluntary unemployment or underemployement. The statute lists factors the court can consider in making this determination.
