Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
illigitiamate child
What is the procedure for having a child legitimized. There is no question as to who the father is, they were just not married until after the birth of the child.

If they were later married, I need more details to tell you what they need to do (or not do). Have the parties call my office.

Re: illigitiamate child
There may not be a need for legitimation because the marriage of the mother and father and the recognition by the father of the child as his can render the child legitimate. I suggest you review the facts with an attorney to be sure your situation fits the statutory definition.
