Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I left my husband because he was a video gaming and pornography addict. He is in the military and when he was home all he did was stay on the computer. We have a 3 year old son, and I have been a stay at home mom for 3 years. He filed for divorce before I could and he is claiming that the marriage was broken and cruel treatment. He is going for full custody of our son. I have never threatened him or laid a hand on him. Can he lie like that? What are the chances he will get custody?

First, you need to hire a local lawyer. The lawyer will discuss counterclaims and responses to his divorce petition. Simply because he filed first does not mean that you cannot assert your own grounds for the divorce.
Moreover, the court looks to the best interest of the child when it comes to custody. If the judge determines that he has an addiction to video gaming and pornography, with all other things being equal, it is unlikely your husband will obtain custody.
The answer depends on the best interests of the child, not on what he requests.
You have to get a lawyer and need to do so less than 30 days from when you are served.
