Legal Separation

My husband and I have been going through rough times. for about 3 months now. He first said that he's ready to move on and is going to move out. I have been approved for an apartment and is considering moving as my husband has yet to leave and doesn't know if he's going to leave. I have been approved for an apartment and is considering moving myself due to emotional stress. How would this affect me when filing for legal separation?
