I live in Georgia. Is it true that if a divorced couple shares joint custody, is the father responsible for paying child support? Is this true?

It is not necessarily true. Child support is based on a number of factors, including the gross income of the parents, expenses of each, number of children (minor 1/2 siblings of the child in question), etc.
