Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I was married in 2000 we stayed together for two weeks and I haven't seen him since. I understand he went back to federal prison. I never knew he had been there the first time. Recently, I was told that I could receive the disability benefits of my husband (who had died) that I was married previous if I could get that short lived marriage annulled. Is it possible to get an annulment after this time, if so how do I proceed?

Annulments can only happen when a marriage was not legal in the first place. Since nothing in your post indicates that, you would need to file a divorce.

Mr Ashman is correct. It is fairly common to think that an annulment can be granted if the marriage was short in duration, however that is not the case in Georgia. There are only a handful of very specific situations in which an annulment can be granted.
