Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
medical payment
During my divorce my son was covered on my medical insurance. Also I pay $600 per month in child support and an additional $300 per month for my son's after school care. I changed jobs May of this year and my ex-husband picked our son up on his coverage. He's now telling me that I have to pay him an additional $130 per month for the medical coverage. He hasn't sent me anything written but is threatening to take me to court for the medical money. Does he have a case to sue me?

Re: medical payment
If you were required to provide insurance and you are not, your ex husband is doing the responsible thing by picking up insurance on your son so he is not uninsured. I suggest you pay the insurance (after verifying the cost) and avoid a potential contempt motion where he could ask to have you jailed for not obeying the court order.

I'd have to read the decree but it sounds like you're likely in contempt. In that case, yes.
