Obtaining a court transcript
I need to obtain the transcript from a hearing. There is some incriminating evidence in the transcript and the reporter is charging me over $400 and saying it will take 30 days.

The court reporter is entitled to be paid for his or her services. Depending on the length of the hearing the cost you mentioned sounds entirely appropiate. It is usually possible to pay an aditional fee to have it prepared as a rush job.
