Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Parental rights of a stepparent
If the stepparent of a child/children is at a park or doctor's office with the child/children of the parent who has physical custody of said child and the non custodial parent arrives and demands that the child/children go with her what rights does the stepparent have? Does the stepparent have to release the child/children to him/her? Can the stepparent refuse and be protected by the law?

This may largely depend on the language of the order as it pertains to visitation and the time the event involved occurs. You should review the order/agreement with an attorney for specific answers to specific questions.
