what happens if I get to the bench trial of my divorce and my husband just doesn't show up? Would the judge sign the decree?

Re: postpone a bench trial
It depends on whether you have children or debts/assets or other issues. It also will vary depending on the judge and what is in the pleadings and what lawyers ask.

This is discretionary with the judge. He/she could go ahead and hear your side of the case and issue a ruling or he/she could decide to reschedule the case out of an abundance of caution. You should consult with a local attorney for advice as to how your particular judge would handle this situation.
