Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I have just recently been laid off from my job, I am attending college at this moment full time also I am collecting unemployment benefits but is not enough not even to fullfill my child support obligation... there is anyway I can reduce my child support payments? please respond ASAP

Your post lacks enough information to answer. Also unemployment tends not to be permanent, but a modification could be permanent.

If the other parent is cooperative, a good and inexpensive approach would be an uncontested modification where the amount would go down now but go up in the future.

You need to sit down with a lawyer and provide details.

You can modify your child support based upon your decrease in income. Although a lawyer is always the best way to resolve this issue, you can handle the motion yourself if you want to do the research and obtain the necessary court forms.
