Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My son's father has filed a legitamation case against me. I was never served because the sheriff's office said they came by several times but could not get anyone, yet someone is always here. And no one rang the bell nor left a notice. They told me he would have to resubmit? What does that mean and can the trial still continue if I was never served?

Retain a lawyer ASAP. Either he's likely to get a private process server or the court may approve other types of service. Pro se legitimization defense tends to go badly so use this time to be prepared.
