Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

step parent

I have custody of my children and was wanting to know what rights my current wife,''step mother'' has concerning the children. Does she have the same as me or none at all?

Re: step parent

None, provided she has not done a step-parent adoption. Such a proceeding would require your consent and either the consent of the mother (ex-wife?) or the termination of the mother's rights for abandonment or some other statutory basis. If she has adopted them, then she has the same rights as you until a court in a divorce or similar proceeding orders otherwise.
