Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Trial by Jury for Divorce
Someone told me you can no longer have a trial by a jury for divorce in the state of Georgia. Is that correct?

No. In Georgia, juries can decide the financial issues such as child support, alimony, and property division. The judge decides any issues of custody and attorney's fees in those cases.

It's false. While rare (and very expensive), one still can have a jury trial. Certain issues however are decided by the Judge.

Your question makes the point that you may act in error by relying on the advice of someone who is not a lawyer. Of course you can have a jury trial in a divorce case.
