Legal Question in Medical Leave in Georgia
Am I Eligble for FMLA
I had to go to Ohio to take care of a situation where my father had an unexpected stroke and almost died. It has been touch and go. I was gone for almost two weeks an unexpectedly got fired today. I had previously advised them I was going to be back at the office next week. I had been on the job for 3 months. What is my recourse?

Re: Am I Eligble for FMLA
You didn't state the number of employees your employer has. In any event, even if it has the requisite number of employees, you did not qualify under FMLA because of the length of time you have been with your current employer. Other than talking the matter over with HR or a senior manager and trying to touch some type of moral fiber he or she MAY have, I don't see any legal recourse unless you are under a written employment contract or belong to a union (which is a necessity in this current anti-employee pro corporate employment environment).
