demand letter
What information should be in a demand letter. My sister received a demand letter from an attorney that said in short, you know what you did, now pay the client 10,000! She has no idea what she did. Both woman worked for the same company 6 months ago. When my sisiter left the other woman was on final warning for poor job performance.

Generally, there are no requirements regarding what must be in a demand letter. Contact the person who wrote the letter and request more detail. Or, you can ignore and hope they don't sue or report it to collections.

Your sister should consult with an attorney before contacting opposing counsel. If she doesn't want to do that, I always recommend putting everything in writing or tape recording the call (if permitted by law). That way your sister has a record of what is alleged and what was said. Also, just be safe, see if the person who sent the letter is an attorney in good standing.
