Dismissal with Prejudice

I recieved a Peremptory Calendar Call for a Suit of Account. They provide me with with 3 options, Announcement of Ready, Request for Mediation or Dismissal. If I request dismissal with prejudice, will the civil case be dropped? Is it best to provide the response on the last eligible day?

The crucial question is "are you the plaintiff or the defendant"? If plaintiff, you don't want it dismissed; if you are defendant, you do. It doesn't matter when you respond.
