Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Harassment In The Workplace

For the past several months I have had to endure verbal harassment from co-workers to the extent that I am emotionally and physically ill. I have brought this to the attention of my immediate manager and her superior for corrective action but nothing has been done. The verbal harassment includes demeaning statements about my ability to perform my duties and includes foul language. This has been done in front of my co-workers and anyone else within a quarter mile. I woul dlike to know if I have any recourse.

Re: Harassment In The Workplace

If you're a female the case might be for sexual harrassment if the tormentors are males. It sounds also like a hostile work environment and this may also give rise to a claim. I don't handle this type of case but know several attorneys who do. This type of case is handled on a contingent fee but the attys who do this work also require a retainer for the anticipated expenses, usually $2,500-5,000.
