Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Roommate ditching on bills

I have an old roommate who said he'd take over the bills when I moved out. I got my SSN taken off the bill and he said he would call in to put his on there. 3 months later when I get collections notices stating it hasn't been paid I get pretty bothered and call the company. Apparently he called in to make sure he had no financial obligation on it and requested his name off of it. The bill gets paid off and shut off. Then I get another notice months later. He never returned the equipment and refuses to give me whereabouts to it. The equipment is worth 275.40 alone. Do I have something that would hold up in small claims court?

If you bought it and you paid for it, it's yours and he can't keep it.

Sure you do but you have to find him and collect on your judgment.
