Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia
Could you please explain the IR-1 Visa? I am a US Citizen and I petitioned my 5 year husband. He came in the US with an IR-1 Visa two months ago. I'm planning to divorce him but I want to know what will happen to his resident status if i divorce him. Can I marry someone else in US?

Nothing will happen to his residency (green card) if he came on IR-1 visa and his green card is valid for 10 years. He'll get to keep it. You will remain financially responsible for him even after divorce under the Affidavit of Support that you signed in order to bring him to USA.
Yes, after divorce you can remarry. However, if you marry an immigrant and will petition for a new husband's green card, there could be some issues.
