Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia
My fiance is a permanent resident living in the USA for the past four year, I am living in Jamaica with a valid visiting visa. We would like to get married and live together in the US. Should we get married there in the US or in Jamaica, or should we wait until he becomes a citizen.
1 Answer from Attorneys
Either way would be fine. If your intention is to move to USA permanently and become a permanent resident after marriage to your fiance, then some degree of planning might be in order. As a wife of a permanent resident, there is currently a wait of about 9 months for a visa number.
