Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia

illegal immigration

I have a friend who is illegal and was using someone's ID (from Pueto Rico) who agreed to let him use the ID while he was out of the country. This person came back and is demanding money from my friend. He continues to try and embezzle money from him. My friend ran and this person went to the police. Should my friend seek a lawyer? Are there any laws that will work in his favor? What are the consequences if he is arrested?

If he is illegally in the country and is apprehended and/or arrested, he will be detained by ICE and referred to Immigration court for deportation/removal. He may ot may not be allowed to post bond while his case is pending in Immigration Court.
