Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I am 30 weeks pregnant and have just been put on modified bed rest for hypertension. I could work from home, a solution that other employees have taken advantage of, but my supervisor will not let me. She says I have to take FMLA. But what will happen when I'm on maternity leave and my FMLA runs out six weeks before I can go back to work? Can my employer make me take FMLA?

FMLA is for your benefit -- why wouldn't you take it? If you are trying to ask whether your employer must make an accommodation for you by allowing you to work from home and continue to pay you, the answer is likely "no." If your FMLA runs out before you are ready to come back to work, you can take paid vacation days, sick days, flex days, or try and work something out with your employer where you can take more unpaid time off. Those are your options.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.******
