Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I am an assistant manager at a retail store and I am the Godmother to a child whose mother works underneath me. I have been watching this child for 2 years with no problems. I received a Verbal Warning today saying it is a conflict of interest and that I have to stop. They said that watching him in my home that if he were to get hurt that they could be held responsible or brought into the matter. Is it legal for them to tell me what can go on at my home?

Yes. If you don't like their rules, then quit and work somewhere else.

No, they can't tell you what to do in your home, on your own time. However, they can tell you whether or not you can work for them if you continue to do it.
