Can I ask for a copy of my personnel file after

The answer is that it depends upon who your former employer is. If the former employer is a state, county or municipal employer in Georgia you can get your personnel file by asking for it under the Georgia Open Records Act. If your employer is a private employer, the information in your personnel file belongs to the employer.
