Employer wants overpayment returned
I terminated employment with my
previous employer in April. I had
worked the entire month of March
and half of the month of April. I was
on maternity leave during the
months of January and February. In
mid-May, my previous employer
asked me to return approximately
$1400 to them for 5 days of
advanced vacation time that was
paid to me during my maternity
leave. Can my employer ask me to
return money to them that they
already paid me?

Since your subject line indicates it is an overpayment, the solution is easy - give them back the overpayment. If the mistake went the other way, you would probably want it corrected. In addition, it is just basic honesty and may very well affect future employment.
