Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Hostile work Environment
My coworker files off the handle extremely fast and stands up and screams at me over minor issues. I quit my job two days ago because of this. What are my rights??

The first question is why do you believe the co-worker did this to you? Unfortunately, in Georgia, the state has decided to give little if any protection to employees.
However, if you believe there is an issue of discrimination based on race, sex, religion, or national origin, you should go to the EEOC website (www.EEOC.gov) to find out in detail your rights.
Also, if you were a government employee, you may have additional rights that private employees don't have.
Re: Hostile work Environment
Contrary to the post, the law fully protects your right to enter into an employment situation, get paid, and even terminate it (as you did). You have the right to seek other empoloyment, but you do not have the right to always work with people you like or with whom you get along. We can't interpret "flies off the handle," or what that means. Moreover, if this is a co-worker, and not management, a different analysis applies, especially if management is unaware. The law is not going to get in the middle of personality disputes among all workers, notwithstanding the opinion of some that there should be many more laws for "protection" (and, thus, more lawsuits and legal fees). You may want to post more details if there is more to the story.
