Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Improper termination/discrimination
My wife worked at a restruant for many years. She had not recieved a oaycheck for over a year. Last week she asked for her paychecks after many similar attempts to get them. For the last week her work has been nitpicked, slandered and told she was not doing her job. This led to a conversation where she asked the owner/manager why she was being singled out and was proptly cursed out and told in a very unprofessional way that if she didnt like it tough. The other employees have not recieved the same treatment in the past week. Also she was not allowed to fill out her own W2's for taxes. She was handed a pre filled out form and told that she could sign it or not work there. What recourse does she have in this situation?

Re: Improper termination/discrimination
Most employment is "at will," and the employee can be terminated for any or no reason, or even if it is arbitrary discrimination or the boss is a jerk. What is prohibited is discrimination based on gender, age, religion .... categories you do not indicate come into play. If so, more facts are necessary. As for W-2 forms, those are normally completed by the employer and given to the employees at the end of the tax year. I am not sure what you mean on that point.
