Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I am currently on long-term disability; I am still considered an employee of the company that I was working for; and I did not qualify for FMLA. Am I legally obligated to go back to the company I was working for when I return to work or can I find other employment before I return to work? I am receiving the benefit of having the reduced insurance rate (that of an employee).

In Georgia the rule is that people are employed at will. This means that if you don't have an employment contract for a definite period or term, you are free to return to your old job (if your employer allows it) or to quit. You are not required to return if you don't want to.
