Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
What can I do to get my money from a former employor, who refuse to pay me money back for wages due. I hired a lawyer and I was granted a judgement against him in court, but he still refuses to paid. I tried to have his checking account garnish, but that failed to. He does not have anything in his name, but in someone else name. He also signed a demand promissory note agreement to repay but has failed to honor it. The buisness has the same name and I tried to sue him as doing business as. What else can I do to make him pay me my wages?

You may consider talking to your lawyer about obtaining and recording a "Fi.Fa." A Fi.Fa. is a lien that is filed in the County land records where the judgment was entered. The lien will basically stay on the public land records and "look" for something to attach to. So, for instance, if your former employer buys a house or property, the minute the deed is filed in the land records, your lien will attach to it. From there, you can "foreclose" the lien and auction the property to recover your wages. The idea being that if your former employer has nothing to go after now, he may at some point in the future.
Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
