Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Pay Raise

I have been employed with this company for 15 months. Exceeded standards after 1 year, also obtained required certification where led to believe a raise would be given when certification received. Asked boss 5 times verbally, 2 times in writing, always same answer very busy. What if any actions can I take. Thank you

Re: Pay Raise

Actions for what? You fail to provide the reason you believe you have a legal entitlement to a raise? Do you have a contract that states you are to receive a raise after you meet certain standards? Otherwise, your pay is a matter between you and your employer, assuming you are being paid at least the federal minimum wage and you are not the subject of unlawful discrimination.

Unless there is an enforceable contract regarding the raise, your option is to find another job that will honor your increased skills and give you an increase in pay.
