Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Pregnant Job Candidate
Hi! I am in the process of trying to find a new job, and am pregnant. I understand that it is against the law to discriminate, but I also understand the reality of how companies operate. If I do not tell prospective companies that I am pregnant, and I am hired, can
they fire me and/or sue me later for not disclosing this information?
Thanks so much for your help!

How companies "operate" may be similar to how some would-be employees "operate." If an employee is tagged as dishonest or untrustworthy, it may not lead to lengthy relationship.
Re: Pregnant Job Candidate
In the initial interview, for certain employers you shouldn't be asked your pregnancy status, age, or marital status. If you want a more detailed explanation of your rights visit EEOC's website (www.EEOC.gov). The EEOC has a detailed section on your issue and the size of the employer that must comply with the Agency's regulations. Thereafter, you should feel more comfortable going into interviews.
