Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Unhappy with my attorney billing schedule

My attorney asks that I replenish my account every two months. Although my complaint is in its formal stage of investigation and they are not required to do anything regarding my case at this time. What should I do to resolve this matter?

I agree with Mr. Riddle's comments, you should discuss it with your attorney. What do you mean, they are not required to do anything with your case at this time? Do you have a copy of the contract you signed? Did you read it beforehand? Your rights and duties and your attorney's rights and duties are spelled out in the contract. If you are unhappy, see if you can modify the contract. Of course, you have a right to an accounting of how the money has been spent.

If you decide to dismiss your attorney, shop around for another attorney, take any new proposed contract home (don't sign it in the office), read it carefully, request modifications if you don't like provisions, and if you sign it, keep a copy for your records.

That is something you discuss with the lawyer. It is not resolved on a message board.
