removal of person from house

I am renting a house in GA. My wife and I let aa family friend stay at the house we are renting for what was supposed to be three weeks. I asked for no rent from this person. This person has now been here for five mos and has not payent any rent. Can she be forced to leave without eviction.

Re: removal of person from house

There is sometimes a fine line between a guest and a tenant. If she is considered a guest, you can demand that she leave at any time. However, if she is considered a tenant, you would have to give her 60 days' notice and go through the normal eviction process. Whether someone is a tenant v. a guest is a factual determination. Seeing that she has been there for 5 months, it would be the safe move to give her the 60 day's notice. On the other hand, she may not put up a fight either way.
